One of the best basketball players who ever played for Bosna Sarajevo and Real Madrid.
Mirza Delibašić – Kinđe started his sports career in 1968 when he became the pioneer champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in tennis. However, he ultimately decided to continue his sporting path in basketball.
He became a member of the basketball club Sloboda Tuzla in 1968 and stayed with the club until 1972 when he joined KK Bosna, playing his first game against Jugoplastika from Split. He played 700 games for Bosna and scored around 14,000 points. He became a champion of Yugoslavia and Europe and won the Yugoslav Cup.
After leaving Bosna, Delibasic went to Spain where, alongside Juan Corbalán, Wayne Brabender, Drazen Petrovic, and Arvydas Sabonis, he was considered one of the best players to ever play for Real Madrid.
With the Yugoslav national team, he won all possible trophies – the World Championship in 1978, the European Championship in 1975 and 1977, as well as the Olympic Games in 1980.
Due to major alcohol-related problems that arose after his divorce, he suffered a stroke in 1983 from which he never fully recovered.
The popular Kinđe passed away on December 8, 2001, at the age of 47.
