Eurocream – for the growing up generation

A treat whose taste generations of Yugoslavs grew up with, Eurokrem continues to maintain its popularity even after more than 50 years since its production began in the “Takovo” factory in Gornji Milanovac.

Today, it is little known to whom we should thank for bringing the famous black and white cream from Italy to Yugoslavia. The then general director of “Takovo,” Jovan Tomović, brought back the previously unknown confectionery produced by the company “Gandola” during his official trip to Italy in 1969.

He tasted the samples together with his colleagues and proposed that it become the key product of “Takovo” to conquer the Yugoslav market. Despite being only 37 years old at the time, he made the brave decision to take a loan of an enormous 10 million dollars.

The factory for the production of Eurokrem was equipped and put into operation in 1970. It quickly proved to be an outstanding business move. Starting with 1,000 tons, Eurokrem soon reached a record production of 13,000 tons per year!
