Rubber Sandals – Queens of the beach
They were a must-have beach accessory, everyone had them, and the most popular ones were the transparent ones.
Jugoplastika was a Yugoslav giant employing 13,000 workers, producing over 3,200 different products, and generating an annual revenue of $350 million. It was hard to imagine a Yugoslav household without some Jugoplastika products, from toys, bags, sneakers, sports equipment, to portable refrigerators…
Whenever a family went to the seaside, they would buy Jugoplastika rubber sandals in various colors. Then, it would be like, half of the day you’re swimming, and half of the day you’re making sure no one takes and mixes them up with their own because all the kids on the beach wore them.
