
Mimosa Festival – in honor of the flower
It is held in honor of the mimosa flower in Herceg Novi. This holiday was founded in 1969 by the Tourist Association of Boka Kotorska and the Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly. Since 1991, he has been a member of the Association of European Carnival Cities (FEEC). In 1975, the holiday was opened by the then first lady of Yugoslavia, Jovanka Broz.
One of the most famous events is the Mimosa, Fish and Wine Festival, which takes place along the Kumbor, Denović and Baosic settlements. During this manifestation, which takes place every first Saturday in February, fish and wine are served with the parade of majorettes and city music.
The International Flower Exhibition is held every year, and the popular Wine Festival has also been held in recent years. Since 1968, the prestigious art manifestation Herzegnov Winter Salon has been held.
In the city port of Škver, a carnival trial event is held for all the bad things that happened to the city of Herceg Novi, known as the Carnival Festival. Events are also held during the Mimosa Festival: Fish Dinner, Big Children’s Masquerade Ball, Great Bokeh Festival, Majorette Parade, as well as various shows, exhibitions, concerts, etc.
